Cryolite glass

Cryolite glass is a high-quality special glass made exclusively for the production of ocular prostheses. The name is derived from the cryolite mineral that gives the glass its typical white colouration. In combination with various coloured glasses, this material can be used to reproduce a highly detailed replica of a human eye.

The high chemical and mechanical load capacity, the smooth and hydrophilic surface typical for glass, and the natural sheen makes cryolite glass one of the most preferred materials for producing ocular prostheses in Germany.
